Hazard Classification Ⅰ

1 Scope

1.1 This standard applies to the transport of dangerous goods in class , division and name of the item number.

1.2 Where has the explosive , flammable , toxic, corrosive , radioactive and other properties in the transportation , handling and storage of custody process, likely to cause personal injury and property damage and need special protection goods are dangerous goods .

      2 classification

Dangerous goods are divided into nine categories

      Class 1 Explosives

Class 2 compressed gases and liquefied gases

      Class 3 flammable liquids

Class 4 flammable solids substances liable to spontaneous combustion and substances emitting flammable gases when wet.

Class 5 oxidizing substances and organic peroxides

Class 6 poisons and infectious substances

      Class 7 radioactive substances [ZK]

      Class 8 corrosives

Class 9 miscellaneous dangerous substances) [ZK]

      3 Details

      Class 1 Explosives

This category refers to goods under external action ( such as heat, impact , etc. ) , chemical reactions can be dramatic , instantaneous produce large amounts of gas and heat , making abrupt rise in ambient pressure , exploded, causing damage to the surrounding environment of the items, but also including no mass explosion hazard , but with the burning of pyrotechnic articles , projectiles and small explosion hazard, or only one or several roles heat, light , sound or smoke , etc. .

The class is divided into five cargo at risk .

Section 1 substances and articles which have a mass explosion hazard

Section 2  substances and articles which have a projection hazard but not a mass explosion hazard

National Bureau of Standards, Implementation 1986-10-07 Posted1987-07-01

Section 3 substances and articles which have a fire hazard and either a minor blast hazard or a minor projection hazard or both, but not a mass explosion hazard

Section 4 substances and articles which present no significant hazard

The entry of goods less dangerous , if ignited or ignited , its dangerous effects largely confined within the package , but on the outside of the package without significant risk .

      Section 5 very insensitive substances

The nature of the cargo items is relatively stable , will not explode in a fire test.

Class 2 compressed gases and liquefied

The type of goods means compressed, liquefied or dissolved under pressure gas , and should meet one of the following two conditions :

The critical temperature is below 50 50  or when its vapor pressure is greater than compressed or liquefied gas 291kPa 's .

When the temperature of 21.1 , absolute pressure of the gas is greater than 275kPa, or at an absolute pressure of the gas is greater than 51.4  715kPa of compressed gas or 37.8  , the Reid Vapor Pressure (reid vapour pressure) is greater than 274kPa or liquefied gas plus dissolved gas pressure .

The goods are divided into three categories :

       Section1 flammable gases

       Section2 non- Flammable gases

The term refers to goods toxic, non-flammable gases, including combustion gases.

       Section4 poisonous gases

Toxicity index of the entry of goods and Class 6 the same toxicity indicators .

      Class 3 Flammable Liquids

The type of goods means flammable liquids, liquid mixtures containing solids or liquids , but because it does not include other types of liquid hazardous properties listed . Closed cup flash point which is equal to or lower than 61, but the different modes of transport can be applied to determine the flash point of the mode of transport , not less than 45 .

The flash point is divided into three categories according to the goods :

Section1 liquids in low flashpoint group

The term refers to goods closed cup test flash point below -18  of liquid .

Section2 liquids in intermediate flashpoint group

The term refers to goods closed cup flash point test at -18  to < 23  of liquid .

Section3 liquids in high flashpoint group

Liquid 23  to 61  goods means the item in closed cup flash point .

Category 4 flammable solids, flammable liquids and flammable when wet

      Item 1 flammable solids

The term refers to goods lighted low heat, impact and friction sensitive and susceptible to an external source of ignition , burn rapidly and may emit toxic fumes of toxic gases or solids , but does not include explosive substances have been included .

      Item 2 spontaneous items

The term refers to a low ignition point cargo , air is apt to occur in the oxidation reaction heat released , the self- burning article .

      Item 3 flammable when wet

The term refers to water or moisture goods occurs when violent chemical reaction and emit large amounts of flammable gases and heat items. Some do not need to open fire , which can burn or explode.

Class 5 oxidizers and organic peroxides

      The first one oxidizer

The term refers to goods in a high oxidation state , with strong oxidizing , easy to decompose and release oxygen and heat the material.

Peroxy -containing organics including , itself not necessarily combustible, combustion of combustibles can cause , with fluffy  powder can form an explosive combustible mixture to heat, sensitive to shock or friction.

      Section 2 Organic peroxide

The term refers to molecules containing goods peroxy organic compounds, flammable itself , easy decomposition, heat or friction are extremely sensitive to vibration .

Class 6 toxic chemicals and infectious substances

      Item 1 toxic chemicals

The term refers to goods after entering the body , accumulated to a certain amount, biochemical or biological changes can occur in physics and body fluids and tissues , disrupt or destroy the normal physiological function of the body , causing temporary or permanent pathological state, and even life threatening items . The median lethal dose oral intake : Solid LD50 ≤ 500mg/kg, liquid LD50 ≤ 2000mg/kg; through skin contact 24h, the median lethal dose LD50 ≤ 1000mg/kg; dust, fumes and vapors Inhalation LC50 LC50 ≤ 10mg / L of solid or liquid , and the inclusion of dangerous goods pesticides.

      Item 2 infectious substances

The term refers to goods containing pathogenic microorganisms that can cause morbidity, and even physical death.

      Class 7 radioactive substances

The type of goods means the radioactivity of greater than 7.4 × 10 4Bq/kg items.

      Class 8 corrosive substances

This category refers to goods and can cause damage to human tissue burns solid or liquid metal and other items. Contact with skin necrosis phenomenon seen in 4h, or when the temperature is 55  , the surface of 20 steel uniform corrosion rate of more than 6.25mm / a solid or liquid.

According to the chemical properties of this class of goods into three :

       Section1 Corrosives presenting acidic properties

       Section2 Corrosives presenting alkalinous properties

       Section3 other corrosives

      Class 9 Miscellaneous

This category refers to the dangerous nature of the goods presented during transport items are not included in the eight categories of risk .

The goods are divided into two categories :

      Item 1 magnetic items

When the term refers to the air transport of goods , the magnetic field strength H of its package surface at any one pitch 2.1m ≥ 0.159A / m.

Otherwise provided in paragraph 2 of article

The term refers to goods with anesthesia, poison or other similar nature , the flight crew can cause emotional upset or discomfort , which affects the proper execution of the mission , endangering flight safety items.
